Say NO to sidewalk salt!

Where: City Hall, Marian Square, Prague
January 26, 2012 at 9am to be at the City Hall to discuss the decree,
permitting the use of thawing salt on sidewalks and pedestrian zones.
The use of road salt is obsolete (in the Scandinavian countries, for
example, not long ago), hurts dogs and other animals living in the city,
poisoning water and destroys material goods.
Take yourself and your dog to come and say laud NO TO SIDEWALK SALT!
Why not to salt the sidewalks in winter
First Salt damages the paws of dogs and other animals. Dogs are already
moving on unnaturally hard surfaces, which suffered minor cuts and
abrasions. Until then penetrates them salt and causes inflammation and
Second Drinking salt water in the winter hurt birds, which otherwise has
limited access to unfrozen water. Songbirds after drinking salt water
Third Salt damages the car body, destroying chains and gear wheels and
motorcycle equipment, causing damage to the shoes.
4th Salt seeps into basements and damage to the steel structure and
concrete. For plaster and masonry causing wetting and gradual erosion
and subsequent mechanical damage from frost.
